EXEDY cerametallic button (SC) clutches are designed to accommodate the demands of high power modified engines. Our ceramic friction material will transmit increased levels of engine torque without slipping or fading given the correct application. All EXEDY ceramic button clutch discs have sprung centre dampers to reduce the impact and shock load transmitted to the drivetrain, safeguarding the transmission and other drive line components. IMPORTANT: With any ceramic button clutch system, there will be some compromise of start-up driveability when compared to a standard clutch (chatter on light throttle, low RPM start-up). This characteristic is generally deemed acceptable in modified performance cars. Drivers of vehicles fitted with cerametallic clutches on the street should be warned not to ride the clutch or try to reduce the chatter as this will greatly increase the wear rate.
